***** Be advised that due to recently discovered changes to 1.6a1 (and the fact that the Dom Inspector is useless for the time being!!!), that there are bugs to be found for the nightly releases (such as the new "places" menu). Appologies, but until Mozilla gets the DomInspector back to being fully functional, there really is little I can do about it :(

***** IMPORTANT*****
THIS IS NOT FOR FIREFOX 1.0.7 OR BELOW - 1.5 OR 1.6a1 ONLY!!

****** Some users may not have all the fonts intended for certain panels (pristina and castello) - these may be downloaded from the following link:
[link]

********14/12/05******
A few clean-ups added, both to tie in a little closer to the matching Thunderbird theme, and to tighten up some areas. Some of the small-sized buttons tidied up, skinned toolbar-separators added, areas previously missed in the Print-Preview panel have been added etc.

*******19/11/05****
Support for Gmail added - until I can contact the developer, you will need to download a slightly modified update, which aloows full theme support (the original lock down acouple of properties for the small toolbar icons):
[link]

*******5/11/05*****
You bloody ripper - the selected-text background in the urlbar is back to the dark grey we all know and love(not!)....hey, it's better than the the way theings were, lol :)

****1/11/05****
Support added for All-in-One sidebar - download a slightly updated version of the extension from here:
[link]

support also added for Console2, calculator, Sage and Chatzilla

****25/10/05*****
version 0.8.2 uploaded. Increased the highlight around the large toolbar buttons, tidied up small toolbar button symbols, re-jigged selected tabs by adding a more silvery tone, quicknote and scrapbook toolbar buttons added...more to come :)

userChrome modifications:

These have been posted after some peoples complaints about the lack of those ugly little favicons (some people are just never happy, lol)

All these entries must be pasted AFTER the namespace:

/* will restore favicons to tabs */

.tab-icon {
opacity: 1.0 !important;
}

/* Removal of (current) Toolbar Bookmark display */

toolbarbutton.bookmark-item[livemark="true"],
toolbarbutton.bookmark-item[container="true"],
toolbarbutton.bookmark-item {
margin: 0;
min-width: 0;
max-width: 100px;
padding: 0px 0px;
background: none !important;
background-position: left;
}

/* used with above, will restore bookmark toolbar to normal, allowing the displayof favicons (site icons) */

.bookmark-item > .toolbarbutton-icon {
-moz-opacity: 1.0 !important;
}

When they release a DOM inspector which is capable of inspecting/interpreting the various new windows (such as the Bookmarks manager replacement), I'll be able to tackle it....is the very reason why no theme has been fully modified for it

OK...Just had a look at the latest of the Bon Echo builds and it appears that many of the areas causing headaches (such as the "places" window) have been removed and held off for version 3.0, so may not be so difficult. Will have a closer look over the next few days and see if I can get an update released by the end of the weekend (fingers crossed).

Hey awsome theme! i have it running on thunderbird and Firefox! I have a question, i added the code you posted to the userChrome.css and it added the favicons to the adressbar, but not to the bookmarks toolbar. why? any alterations that i should make to it? i have all my bookmarks in the toolbar just as the favicon so it makes it really hard. [see link to image]

Last thing, i am using the 'Tab mix plus' extension, and if you add it and go to the Display>tab>show:>;Progress meters on tabs.
it shows up at the top of the tab, not the middle, and then you cant really see it well, is there any way that you can make that part show up in color? if you cant its ok. but is there ny way to make it look better?[see link to image for example]

thanx,

-Lato

Yeah they're excellent, but the skins dont render in FF the way they do in TB. I've been thinking it might be an extension issue (combatibility w/ foxy tunes skins maybe) Thanx, love ur work peace!:painter:

Although I've only used one theme on my Firefox this year, I HAD to change
it and apply this one, just because it's the best I've seen so far!!
Keep up the good work :thumbsup:

hello, i love your theme. this is just about the greatest theme i have seen for firefox yet. i do have a few minor problems however. i was wondering if it would be possible to increase the difference between something that is moused-over and something that is not. the difference in the shades of white is barely noticable, and since the bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar have no other indictaction that you are over them (when favicons are visible) its hard to see.

also i am having some problems with the tab mix plus extention. nothing major, first tab mix plus allows for a loading bar on the tab itself. unfortunately since text on the selected tab and the background of the loading bar are both black it is hard to read loading tabs [link] you can also configure it so there is a close button on each tab, however in this theme the right side of the load button gets cut off [link] i have no idea if it is possible to fix these issues, and really they are not huge problems or anything, so if they are un fixable don't worry about it.

finally, and this is really little, but i love the brushed look that the All-In-One Sidebar and some other elements of this browser have, is there a chrome edit to give the rest of the browser that look? what about a chrome edit to give buttons like "stop" "home" "reload" "go" and other similar buttons (but probably not the back and forward arrows) japanese kanji instead of the symbols? just thoughts :)

anyway, great theme, i'll be using it for a loooong time, thank you!

OK...did you set up a clean profile when moving to Firefox 1.5, as this is the cause of the magority of problems. If not this, look to your extensions - it will apperent if this is the cause when setting up the new profile. Hope this helps :)

IS alright...can set up a clean profile at any time - hell, you can have several. On Windows for example go to the start panel and open the "run" console. After closing Firefox completely, enter the following:

firefox.exe -p

This will open up the profiles manager where you can quickly create a new profile. Feel free to shoot me if you get stuck along the way in getting things set p again :)

Tab extensions tends to cause havoc with a number of themes, especially those using a custom tab form - unfortunately the extension is not well enough constructed to adapt itself to the modified tabs as other extensions do. Unfortunately there is little I can do about it

If you use the modified version I posted ([link]), it does. Unfortunately the new version of All-in-One sees even more elements unavailable to theme support - a fact which I've alerted the developer - so if all else fails, I may need to rebuild that one too. Honestly, it drives me nuts when certain extension developers couldn't give a stuff about us theme developers - rather short-sighted really - where as others, such as the developers of fireFTP and FlashGot gave both been a treat to work with

It's pretty much one of the first for it, and you did a fantastic job!

Also, you have a midnight theme in the screenshot, where can I download that?

Alright, I have to say 's a nice theme. Has done it's job as replacing Longfiber for me, as said theme didn't have a 1.5 version...

Now, my single complaint is the lack of icons on the tabs, because I usually have many tabs opened so sometimes I have to rely solely on them to navigate.

So, well, did some research, and ended up on this page, seeing your instructions.

However...

I still don't really get it - first of all, the file to enter the changes in is supposed to be named userChrome.css, right? And for the second problem... exactly WHERE am I supposed to put userChrome.css? I have Firefox simply installed in C:\Firefox.

email me and can both send you an updated version of the extension (someone alerted me to the fact that the version of chromEdit available doesn't install on 1.5), and guide you through the modification. Is an easy fix, so wouldn't stress mate :)

Cheers

Found this at Mozilla Update, and I noticed you were here too I just felt like faving it. Very nice theme. It's quite radical but still blends well with other desktop elements. Many themes can be too overwhelming, but you've found just the right balance. :)
