***** Be advised that due to recently discovered changes to 1.6a1 (and the fact that the Dom Inspector is useless for the time being!!!), that there are bugs to be found for the nightly releases (such as the new "places" menu). Appologies, but until Mozilla gets the DomInspector back to being fully functional, there really is little I can do about it :(

***** IMPORTANT*****
THIS IS NOT FOR FIREFOX 1.0.7 OR BELOW - 1.5 OR 1.6a1 ONLY!!

****** Some users may not have all the fonts intended for certain panels (pristina and castello) - these may be downloaded from the following link:

********14/12/05******
A few clean-ups added, both to tie in a little closer to the matching Thunderbird theme, and to tighten up some areas. Some of the small-sized buttons tidied up, skinned toolbar-separators added, areas previously missed in the Print-Preview panel have been added etc.

*******19/11/05****
Support for Gmail added - until I can contact the developer, you will need to download a slightly modified update, which aloows full theme support (the original lock down acouple of properties for the small toolbar icons):

You bloody ripper - the selected-text background in the urlbar is back to the dark grey we all know and love(not!)....hey, it's better than the the way theings were, lol :)

****1/11/05****
Support added for All-in-One sidebar - download a slightly updated version of the extension from here:
[link]

support also added for Console2, calculator, Sage and Chatzilla

****25/10/05*****
version 0.8.2 uploaded. Increased the highlight around the large toolbar buttons, tidied up small toolbar button symbols, re-jigged selected tabs by adding a more silvery tone, quicknote and scrapbook toolbar buttons added...more to come :)

userChrome modifications:

These have been posted after some peoples complaints about the lack of those ugly little favicons (some people are just never happy, lol)

All these entries must be pasted AFTER the namespace:

/* will restore favicons to tabs */

.tab-icon {
opacity: 1.0 !important;
}

/* Removal of (current) Toolbar Bookmark display */

toolbarbutton.bookmark-item[livemark="true"],
toolbarbutton.bookmark-item[container="true"],
toolbarbutton.bookmark-item {
margin: 0;
min-width: 0;
max-width: 100px;
padding: 0px 0px;
background: none !important;
background-position: left;
}

/* used with above, will restore bookmark toolbar to normal, allowing the displayof favicons (site icons) */

.bookmark-item > .toolbarbutton-icon {
-moz-opacity: 1.0 !important;
}

Looks great. Using it now, very cool! The 1st decent theme I've seen for the latest Firefox versions.

Will there ever be a version of this skin for FF 1.0.x? I'm not ready to switch to 1.5 yet.

No buddy - with 1.5 so close to official release, it seriously wasn't worth the tonne of grey hairs to work with both versions - which has given me th freedom to make things as sharp as possible. Am sure it will still be here waiting for you, lol
:iconthecrayolakidd:
Has anyone installed this on a Linux system - if so, could someone please email me a screen-shot of how the file-picker is currently displaying so I know whether or not I need to make any adjustment - would be HUGELY appreciated :)

I love b&w-web!
I wanted to do a black & white theme myself to match with my website, but this is just what I had meant to to. Visit my web site and understand what I mean. The only weaknesses I see: - sometimes a black background would be better: for example in the Bookmark Manager; - and some icons could be... better.
But overall, one of the best Firefox themes.
:iconthecrayolakidd:
Cheers for the feedback :) I tried the black background in the sidebars and bookmark manager and actually found it looked a little over-done - just felt it needed that contrasting colour. If you let me know which backgrounds you want to blacken, I can whip up a userCrome mod for you :)

Now, which icons were you refering to - can always use the suggestions and fresh input. Am playing with/tightening up the main toolbar icon. Am fairly happy at this point with the bookmark icons, but am a lil iffy at this point with a couple of the options icons (advanced pref especially), but am leaving them until inspired with a better idea - suggestions more than welcome there as well
:iconpeterpoe:
I was referring especially to some of the navigation toolbar icons, like the reload page and the stop loading ones. Maybe you could try to shrink them a little so they don't touch the upper highlight and the lower border of the button, and add a little embossing to them (but embossing is by my taste, many might like them this way...)
:iconblackshogun:
Why not add to ff1.0.7 please. i'm just waiting to use it.
:iconthecrayolakidd:
have thought about it, but am still that the amount of work required is at all worth it, given that 1.5 is a only a couple of weeks of official release. Is there any reason in particular you don't want to give the 1.5beta a try??
:iconblackshogun:
I'll wait til ff1.5 is official. But, just to let you know i truly love the theme. any new ideas on other japan themes? Just swing it by me. How about a jade theme or cherry blossoms. As soon as 1.5 is official, this great creation will be the only one i will use. thank you for droping me a line.
